Shave and a Haircut, 2 bits

Although some tattoo studios cut hair in their shop, you won't see that happen at Pikes Peak Tattoo.

Why you ask? For your safety!!!

So what does a hair cut have to do with a tattoo? Cutting hair in a tattoo studio is releasing an airborne contaminant into the shop. Hair is an organic substance that floats around when cut from the scalp. Along with it, it carries germs, diseases, and possibly even lice.

We will however shave any areas that is going to be tattooed. But, before we do, the skin is prepped as it would be for surgery, with a surgical scrub that kills any germs for up to 2 hours. We then soap the area before shaving to prevent the hair from floating into the air. Afterwards the disposable razors are deposited of in a sharps container..... No biohazard materials are left to chance in our studio. Not only do we have great artists, we have a stringent set of rules so you can be assured that we take every precaution with your health.

Sidenote:

If you've seen a studio advertising free tattoos, beware. We've all learned the hard way that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Your health should be your greatest concern, your satisfaction with your tattoo, and finally the price. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you are unhappy with any tattoo you received elsewhere IT CAN BE COVERED OR FIXED! If you've experienced this, consult with one of our artists.

UPDATE: Word on the street has it that the "free" tattoo is only a HOOK to get you into the studio, that it is really only a temporary Henna tattoo not an "actual" tattoo...again, beware of schemes!

Actually, we fibbed a little, Pikes Peak Tattoo will, and always has, offered free tattoo removal or free cover up of gang related tattoos. If you find your life has changed and you'd like your tattoo to change with it, please call us.
